Exciting parcels!

(Please note I do not normally allow Bilbo on the table!
But when parcels arrive I cannot get him off!)

Yesterday this exciting parcel arrived all the way from the other side of the world. I knew what it was as I've been waiting for it to arrive, but I was surprised because it only took a week to fly around 10,000 miles.
Bilbo helped to open it...

What's this Bilbo say's, can I eat it?!

Peek-a-boo anyone in here?!

Ahh now Bilbo thought the bubble wrap was fascinating,
I was much more fascinated by my new stands!

Handmade by the lovely Leanne of Saw Dust Art

(Leanne is the sister of my dear friend Helen of Bear Cub Designs
What a talented family thet are aye!)

Here's the stands set up ready for bears,
but Bilbo thinks he's much more important.

Here's a close up without bears, what you may not be able to see is there are small holes around the bases and on the plinth, I am going to weave ribbon in and out of these so that I can change up the colour of my stand whenever I like.

And here's some bears from my own collection. I am so happy with my new stands, I can't wait to use them at my next show

Thank you so much Leanne, I LOVE em!!

Everywhere you look there's mushrooms

A few months ago while we were in the USA I got slightly obsessed by taking photos of mushrooms, I guess because we did a lot of walking we naturally came across them, but we also found some in the most unusual places!

I love mushrooms, not to eat (that's just wrong) but to look at I think they are fab, they make me think of fairies dancing by moonlight. Over the years I have collected quite a few paper, clay and plastic mushrooms to use with the bears, I really must get around to using them!!

Studio Assistant

I thought it was about time I got a studio assistant, working alone from home all the time I was in danger of becoming a crazy lady as I found myself talking to myself (and the bears) a little too much. So this little fellow has come into our lives so now I can turn into a crazy cat lady...

Let me introduce Mr Bilbo Baggins

My Beautiful 8 week old kitty

He has settled into daily life very well and
is getting increasingly cheeky everyday

He's such a "help" around the studio,
the favourite game so far is stealing tissue paper when I'm packing up bears

He also likes to examine my current "for me" crafty projects
(that's a patchwork quilt I'm working on, I'm managing a square a day, its going to take me the rest of the year to finish it)

He steals my studio chair, how can I move him when he looks like this?!

and boy can he sleep

and sleep

and sleep

and sleep, so at least I've been able to get a small amount of work done still.
