Days out...

We've had a few lovely days out recently!
(I'm making the most of being a full time Mummy and not working 90% of the time!)

Over the Bank Holiday weekend we went to College Lake near Tring Herts.

It's a beautiful nature reserve that used to be a working chalk quarry.

Over the years it's really grown, there are lots of interesting things to do and look at...

This is the Lookout Inn...

a hands-on wildlife treasure box for under 5s.

This is part of the farming exhibition.

There is a beautiful wildlife garden.

and a bee centre...

my favourite bit because my Grandad kept honey bee's at
his home "Little Shantock"

A cool wildlife hotel!

 The woodland walk

In the wildlife garden was this super shepherds hut.

The views are amazing

It's such a lovely thing to do on a sunny afternoon.

A visit to Hogwarts....

At the end of April Mum and I took Logan to the Harry Potter Studios for the first time.
(Of course it wasn't mine and Mum's first time, it was actually our 9th visit!!!)

It was the Flights of Fancy event and there were a few special things going on...

Logan slept through the first 30 minutes of the tour.

The Great Hall was set up for breakfast and awaiting the owl post!

I wish I had these for breakfast!

Some of the owls that performed in the films were in Diagon Alley,

they were very well behaved and rather stunning.

Logan was a super good boy and we had a lovely day.

Spring has sprung...

and we took the opportunity to visit a local attraction near our home, the weather was perfect for strolling the gardens of Wrest Park. Where in the immaculate gardens a french style mansion is set. We didn't get to look around the house because it was closed for a wedding but we enjoyed exploring the gardens.

One side of the house

The smell from these hyacinth's are amazing

The pavilion, I was rather taken with this building

I'm not sure why it just had something special about it

there were lots of tiny staircases

leading up and down

a chair to watch the view

pretty huh?!

this mirror has seen better days but I like it

the roof

this is how I imagined myself here, maybe I'd do a bit of sewing

this was the view from the pavilion

and this is the orangery,
we didn't go closer because getting up those steps with a buggy takes hard work!!

and this is the bath house

I imagine a troll living under that bridge!

and this was Logan's reaction to the whole thing.
The only thing he woke for was for milk in the cafe!

It was a lovely afternoon out and
we'll certainly be going back to explore more another day.
